KOTA KINABALU, Oct 8 ― Sindumin assemblyman Datuk Yusof Yacob this morning announced that he has resigned from Warisan and is not an independent assemblyman.
The Warisan information chief had earlier denied rumours that he is leaving the party.
Yusof told reporters he is supporting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at the federal level, and the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at the state level.
The resignation of Yusof came after Warisan last week denied that 15 of its state assemblymen had quit and had supported Gabungan Rakyat Sabah.
In February this year, Sebatik assemblyman Hassan A Gani Pg Amir also left Warisan. He declared himself an independent and backs the GRS ruling coalition.
Hassan decided to leave the party led by Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal as he claimed it focused more on politicking, instead of the people’s well-being. ― Borneo Post
